I woke up to gray skies and snow starting to come down this morning. After all, it is December 8 and it’s time for real winter to set in here in Utah – home of the Greatest Snow on Earth.
Jason and I find ourselves measuring each experience that we have these days against the knowledge that next year, we will have a new little munchkin to share our lives with. Putting up the tree – next year the ornaments will have to be higher up and we’ll look into getting a gate to protect the crawler from pulling over the tree. Stockings – I got an extra stocking hook so that there is a place ready for one more on the mantle. Poinsettias – I love to use them at Christmas time but I hear they are poisonous so those will be out of the rotation for the next few years.
And of course, as the snow falls I imagine myself bundling our bambino up before we venture out. He’ll still be too little to understand Christmas next year much more than playing with ribbon and boxes but it is truly a miracle that for the first time in our 16 years together that we will have the opportunity to spend Christmas differently than we always have. It’s true that our lives will change in just a couple of months – but our hearts burst with wonder at the idea of this particular change. We can’t wait to experience all the good, the bad, the frustration and the joy that comes from having a new person to love.
So, as I stay bundled up inside today thinking of life with the baby, working on Cuttlebug, with the fire going and hot chocolate on the stove, here is a Download Day fit for snowy conditions. I think you’ll like the bonus reindeer tracks on the full page file, too. Enjoy!

Love the reindeer tag (and the tracks!). Thank you very much. Happy December!
I love love love this! We host a “Rudolph” party every year – we watch the movie, play some reindeer games and eat cookies. These will be perfect for invitations! Thank you Kolette! XX’s
Kollette,
I had to tell you that I remember so vividly that last Christmas before our little guy was born… I remember going to pick the trees telling him all about it through my tummy… That very first Christmas when he was here I found that I understood “For He gave his only begotten son” in a way that I could never ever had understood if I too had not had an only begotten son. I have some journalling I have from that experience… He is now 3 1/2 and I still remember vividly that last Christmas… Probably more than his first… How funny…
Have a wonderful Christmas
How fun it is to read of your growing anticipation! Next year will be so different and special for you!
My oldest was 3 weeks old for his first Christmas – he turned 21 Friday, and it sure doesn’t feel like it was that long ago. It was so much fun to rock and sing Christmas Carols to him.
Enjoy preparing your home!
Lovin’ the snow!
Jason
