Jim has figured out that I am blogging about boot camp and said that he was going to check it out this weekend so I thought that in honor of him and all boot camps out there that we should do a giveaway. Yea!
All you have to do is give Jim a shout out here in the comments – maybe share an exercise tip with him…yeah, that’s a good idea. Show a little love to Jim from Jim’s Gym and I’ll pick a random winner of one of my holiday wood stamp sets. How does that sound?
Leave your comment by this Sunday, October 11 by 6 pm and we’ll have a winner Monday morning.

I’ve been following your boot camp and staying on track with my running/yoga schedule. I actually sent off my registration for my first 5K this morning – I’ve been wanting to do a race forever and I can’t wait!
Hey Jim! I don’t know you, but you sound like a real motivator for Kolette! I am a swimmer, and had to take the year off due to an unexpected spinal fusion surgery. I have just been cleared to go back into the water and man, am I ready!
I wish I lived close to Jim’s Gym….this sounds great! I am currently pregnant and am doing my best to exercise regularly and be healthy. I really can’t wait until I can run and exercise like I used to. I am planning on running a half marathon after I have my baby and am wanting to get into shape as soon as I can….I didn’t do this with my first and know that it will really help me feel better!
No exercise tip … just wish Jim was closer to me – sounds like he’s what I need (see no exercise tip previously mentioned!!)
Hey Jim! Oh how I wish you lived in North Texas! I really need some outside motivation…
Hey, Jim. Don’t be too hard on Kolette!!
Jim – boot camp sounds tough but worth it. I’m gonna need one after my twins are born next spring!
My gym offers a boot camp…but during the middle of the day…doesn’t work for us work away from home mom’s! But it’s been fun reading about Gym and his motivation techniques. Good luck to both of you!
Greetings Jim from Edmonton (in Canada). I’m a huge fan of bootcamps and it sounds like yours is one tough workout… wish I lived closer so I can try your class!
Bootcamp sounds brutal but is actually one of the funnest and hardest things I have ever done. Truth be told-I wish that I could do boot camp at least three times a week!
I need a coach Jilian to keep me going!
Keep motivating people to be healthier!
What a great idea Kolette! Hi Jim! You have obviously been a great motivator and I have to admit after visiting your web site I wish I lived closer to your gym!!!! There really do need to be more trainers out there that share your philosophy, it’s what people like me need to get motivated.
Kolette – been enjoying your report on your boot camp and storeis of Jim’s Gym. My tip: Hydrate. Especially when you exercise. We are all in need or more hydration than we get on a daily basis. Exercise = more hydration. Rule of thumb: Drink at least half of your body weight in ounces of water. Sports drinks, flavored drinks, etc. do not count!
Go Kolette! you rock!!!
I’d love to take a boot camp class–I need to get back in shape before we start trying for our 2nd baby! I could benefit from some crazy tough training like Jim delivers!
good for you doing boot camp! that’s surely what i need, so sorry, no tips from me… but keep it up!!
Hi Jim….I seem to always hurt myself lately when I excercise. Even if I go on a spirited walk I will wake up the next morning with a pinched nerve or muscle that literally requires muscle relaxers just to get back to normal. I used to be a vigorous exerciser. What could be the problem? Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!!!!
Hello to Jim,
My tip related to exercising–set a goal, have fun and use or develop a positive relationship to support your staying on track and reaching your goal.
Hey Jim….Not a boot camp kind of gal…runner turner biker after knee replacement….with colder weather here in the east, time to go back to the gym and spinning!!!
my tip…set goals and stick to them …it pays off I am down 32lbs!!!!
This is a great option for people that need to jump start their workout, especially new moms. As a health educator many walls that clients put up is the long term commitment of joining one gym. This option is a great bridge to discussing action and then maintenance. We love hearing about you through Kolette!
Hey Jim-Sounds like Kolette is well on her way, with your motivating techniques! My tip is to set up a work-out schedule with a friend. You are less likely to cancel if you know someone will be there waiting for you!
Hi Jim! I have been reading Kolette’s blog and keeping up with all of the torture you are putting her through and I just wish that I could be there too! I really need someone like you to push me and get me in shape! You are also very lucky to get to spend time with Kolette, she is just amazing!

Hey Jim!
Reading about Kolette’s experiences in Bootcamp have been encouraging and I’ve gotten back on the exercise train but I hate the name: BOOT CAMP.
I think the name discourages people from trying it because it sounds awful. Isn’t there a more fun name we could call it?
Like Maybe……..
Stilleto Camp? : )
Thanks for the chance, Kolette!
Dori
Hey Jim – I would love to be motivated by you and your boot camp and I believe it will all be good for Kolette in the end. Just remember to be nice! This is all about overall health.
Hey Jim! I have FM, Chronic Fatigue and Spinal Stenosis so boot camp is out for me. But one thing I have learned even with all of this, My Tip, always find a way to do something in the way of exercise. Even if it is just small things.
Hey Jim!
Hey Jim- move less eat more is actually the magic button (now why is it so hard to believe?) On that walking a little further, dancing with the kids, or dancing while watching tv are all great ideas for increasing movement.
Hi Jim,
Never heard of Boot Camp before, but i’ve been a member of our local gym for 7 years – on again, off again. Recently my kids gave me the gift of a personal trainer once a week and she, like you, kicks my butt!! I love it! It’s a Circuit training course and though it’s really difficult, it’s always new and changing and keeps me interested – much better than working out on my own!! (Although i do take notes and return to the gym throughout the week and pick a workout to do) It’s so fun reading Kolette’s version of your workouts – I can relate!
Hey Jim, one of my best friends teaches bootcamp and I worked out with her for years before the time constraint due to travel time to classes (they aren’t local) took its toll on my life. I am one of those weird people who loves bootcamp…..ahem. The one thing that always keeps me focused is the phrase “if you cheat, you only cheat yourself”. All I have to do is hear that (or say it to myself at this point) and it immediately strikes a cord and I push myself harder. Oh how I miss my bootcamp.
Hey Jim, I know you are motivating Kolette, but I am motivating as well! I had a dream last night that I was already my former “thin and healthy” self and was doing all the things I have stopped doing lately because of my weight gain… I can hardly wait to get there! Thanks for the motivation Jim (AND Kolette too!)
Sounds like a great program…wish I could find something like this in my area!! Keep up the good work Jim AND Kolette!!
Just drink lots of water, and never, NEVER give up!
Hi Jim – I have never attended a bootcamp and to me it sounds scary. Am having trouble with my hip and knee joints at moment (early OA) and findind a suitable form of exercixe is tricky. I love classes with great music but sometimes the reps are too much.
Be nice to Kolette – she is our friend. And if you ever come to visit NZ I will gladly intorduce you to my local gym!
Hey Jim!!! Welcome to Kolette’s blog! My tip – just do it! I spend more time making excuses on why I can’t exercise than actually exercising. Geesh!
Hey Jim! I’ve never been to a boot camp, but if I did yours would be the one. But I have a question. Would it be ok it I didn’t throw up???
Hey Jim! Wish I lived near your gym because I could sure benefit from boot camp too! Keep up the good work!
